The norms governing advertising on the roads and highways is being closely examined by the concerned authorities in view of the dynamic changes in the advertising practices.

Sanjay Kumar Nirmal, Secretary General, Indian Roads Congress, will share his perspectives on how OOH can augment India’s roads experience at the 14th Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) that will be organised at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai, Mumbai during July 27-18, 2018.

Sanjay Kumar Nirmal assumed the role as Secretary General of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) in April 2017. He has been associated with IRC for more than 30 years. Sanjay joined the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India through Engineering Services Examination in 1986. From 1986 to 2017 he worked at various offices of the ministry, in various capacities. He also worked in the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) during 2003-2009 as General manager and 2009-10 as Chief General Manager.

Sanjay was Corresponding Member of Technical Committee on Flexible and Semi-Rigid Pavement (D.2.b). of World Road Association, Paris. He is also Fellow Member of Institution of Engineers, India.

Sanjay graduated in 1983 from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in civil Engineering with Honours. M.B.A. in 1990 from R.A. Poddar Institute of Management, Jaipur, and Master of Science (MS) in 1998 from Delft University of Technology/ IHE, Delft, The Netherlands. He is a recipient of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Award for outstanding contribution to highway profession given by Indian Roads Congress in 2003.
