Kavlekar replaces Sardesai as Town & City Planning Head in Goa
With this change, the implementation of the new policy on uniform hoardings in Goa might be put on hold
In a new twist to the on-going issue of uniform hoarding policy in Goa, Vijai Sardesai, who till recently was heading the Town and City planning Committee in the state, has been replaced by Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, the Deputy Chief Commissioner of Goa, according to their official website.
With the replacement, implementation of the new OOH policy might be put on hold. Babu Kavlekar is yet to comment on the policy.
It may be recalled that Vijai Sardesai was very vocal about his policy recommendation on bringing uniformity in hoardings across Goa. The conversations between him and the media owners’ association were escalating towards bringing this policy into motion in an effective manner.
