Brooke Bond Red Label’s cuppa with a message
The brand has installed innovative tea vending machines across the Kumbh Mela that facilitate easy plastic waste disposal
Towards promoting the cause of safe disposal of plastic cups, Brooke Bond Red Label (BBRL) has set up first-of-their-kind tea vending machines across the Kumbh Mela.
The Kumbh Mela receives over 15 crore footfalls and it is estimated that more than 200 tonnes of garbage get generated at the Kumbh Mela every year. Much of this garbage does not end up in dustbins and poses various health risks.
The BBRL device doubles up as dustbins and has a built-in sensor. Every time a pilgrim disposes of plastic waste, the sensor gets activated and releases a warm, delicious cup of tea from the tea vending slot.
