Kicking off a new brand wagon!

Prime Marketing uses four rail engines of Southern Railways to promote Sharon Plywoods

Train wrap as an advertising format has been there for years, but there is now an extension to this format – train engine branding. Chennai-based OOH media owning firm Prime Marketing has executed the first engine branding in Southern Railway, having the won the rights for branding of 4 train engines for a period of 6 months. The engine has been branded with Sharon Plywoods creative. The branded engines will pull different trains – from passenger and express trains to Shatabdi trains.

For the branding, the engines have been hand-painted with PU paint as the railway authority refused use of any wrap material. The painting of one engine takes about 5 days. The company is apparently receiving encouraging responses from different brands for this format.

This kind of branding was first undertaken on Western Railway.
