IPA spreads public awareness on Antibiotic resistance through outdoor

Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) rolled out a unique outdoor campaign to inform people how to use antibiotics in a wise way. The campaign covered the major arterial routes of Kolkata and South as well as North 24 Parganas.

IPA(Indian Pharmaceutical Association), as a part of their platinum jubilee celebrations, supported by Bengal Pharma and Healthcare Trust for the public awareness rolled out a unique initiative to inform the people of Kolkata how to use antibiotics in a wise way. The mobile van campaign spread the word about antibiotic which is a chemical substance produced by a microorganism and has the capacity to inhibit the growth of or to kill other microorganisms. The major communication was about antibiotic that is effective against a wide range of infectious microorganisms which includes both gram positive and gram negative bacteria and is called as a Broad spectrum antibiotic.

Moonlight Creation planned the outdoor activity for IPA. Nilendu Guha, Director of Moonlight Creation shares, "We have used a Tata 712 vehicle for Kolkata, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Pargans for 10 days extensively. Few members of IPA were with the vehicle and they distributed the printed materials to all the people in the road, and all the hospitals in and around, including major colleges. They have plans to execute such campaign in all the major districts in West Bengal and other states of India.
