SDMC to go with record high minimum reserve price for BRT tender
The tender will be for 10 unipoles, 30 flag-signs and 8 toilet blocks on the BRT Corridor. The civic body plans to mop up Rs 10 crore a year from these properties.
SDMC’s upcoming tender for the BRT Corridor will quote a minimum reserve price that is six times higher than ever, which may go up by 8-9 times after the actual bid. The tender, which will be floated on January 13, will have 10 unipoles, 30 flag-signs and 8 toilet blocks on the BRT Corridor in its inventory. This is also the first time SDMC will own the tender as opposed to earlier when Delhi Transport Department hosted the tendering process on 25% revenue sharing basis with SDMC.
Prem Sankar Jha, Additional deputy Commissioner – Advertising Department, SDMC, said, “Though DTC was reluctant to give away the tender ownership to us and obstructed SDMC in many ways, we are proud to be able to float the tender in a few days’ time. In spite of being a prominent stretch of south Delhi, BRT Corridor earned us only Rs 1 crore earlier which is expected to be augmented now. We are expecting around Rs 10 crore per year from BRT.”
