Central Railway’s Pune division plans to re-tender Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk media
The authority has reportedly reduced the area for hoardings and issued strict orders for the check of site strength
Bygones are bygones at least in the books of Central Railway’s Pune Division. The Pune Division of Central Railway is reportedly bringing back the hoarding sites at Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk in Pune, where a mishap took place seven months ago. As reported in a national daily, the Central Railway is in the process of rolling out a fresh tender to allot advertising rights for the same which is expected to be out in the second week of June. However, the railway has decided to reduce the total area for hoardings.
Also, to ensure site and structure strength, the central railway has given a mandate that the design of the hoarding structure has to be passed by one of the six third party engineering agencies authorised by the Railways, including the College of Engineering, Pune and Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
It may be recalled that last October, a huge structure collapsed when the railway authority was trying to dismantle it.
