Skywalk project on Bengaluru’s T Chowdiah Road hits a roadblock
Work on a BBMP skywalk has been stalled as it is coming up where the ramp of the proposed steel bridge is to be built. The skywalk was to come up between the War Memorial and Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium.
The controversy over the proposed steel bridge on T Chowdiah Road in Bengaluru has once again reared its head. The Times of India has reported that work on a BBMP skywalk has been stalled as it is coming up where the ramp of the proposed steel bridge is to come up. The skywalk was to come up between the War Memorial and Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium.
It is learnt that the skywalk was planned before the steel flyover found a mention in the state’s 2014-15 budget document. A Palike council meeting in February 2014 had resolved to build the skywalk, just days ahead of the state budget.
