DMRC promotes environment awareness among school kids
The transit authority conducted a storytelling show inside the metro train to create awareness about the World Environment Day
The Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) hosted a story-telling class for school kids inside a train to teach them about the perils of wastefulness a day ahead of the World Environment Day. The session was organised in collaboration with National Book Trust (NBT), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), IJ Kakehashi Services Pvt Ltd, and Kodansha Ltd, a Japanese publication. Story Ghar, a house of stories conducted the show.
In the session, about 100 primary school students from several schools were narrated the story of ‘Mottainai Grandma’ — a Japanese picture book story of a grandmother who spots wasteful behaviour and spreads awareness about it.
“The objective of the event was to promote environmental awareness amongst children and people across the society through interesting storytelling methodology,” the DMRC said in a statement.
The event was conducted inside a metro train at the Dwarka Metro station.
