University of East London takes on AI with a hand-painted OOH campaign

The University of East London (UEL) has taken a bold stand on creativity with an outdoor campaign built around a simple message: “Don’t let AI think for you.” 

Executed by BambOOH, the campaign brings the message to life through a large hand-painted wall on Bethnal Green Road, just outside Shoreditch High Street station. 

At a time when AI is becoming part of everyday creative work, the campaign uses an intentionally human form of expression to make its point. Instead of a digitally produced visual, the hand-painted execution puts creativity itself at the centre of the message. 

The prominent wall gives the campaign strong visibility among commuters and pedestrians in the area, while the handcrafted treatment makes it stand apart from conventional OOH advertising.
