Kochi Metro Rail calls for fresh bids for media rights
In the new tender KMRL has specified the number of media units that may be developed at the Metro stations
Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has invited fresh bids for rights on the advertising media formats on the Metro network while specifying the number of media units to be developed. The media rights contract that was allotted by KMRL to Kochi-based Chams Advertising now stands dissolved. “There was confusion between the allotted party and the authority as both parties perceived the matter differently. Therefore, the authority revoked the tender which has now been re-tendered with more clarity on the number of sites to be erected, “confirmed a Kochi Metro Rail Limited official to Media4Growth.
The authority has re-worked the tender, and provides for formats such as inside and outside metro stations media, LED screens inside stations, Inside and outside train advertising for the duration of 7 years and semi-naming rights on stations for the duration of 3 years. The tender also includes digital media where six 42” LEDTV will be installed at each station (i.e. 13 stations x 6 nos = 78 nos. in total) – and 50% of the time on these screens may be used for display of advertisements.
The authority is expecting a positive response to the tender. Last date to submit the bid documents is October 20, 2017.
