Volkswagen has named Bishwajeet Samal as its new Head of Marketing and Public Relations for the Indian market, a move Bishwajeet announced via a LinkedIn post. This elevation comes after Bishwajeet’s successful stint at Volkswagen’s headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany, where he held key global leadership positions. His most recent role as Global Lead Campaigns & Media Management saw him directing worldwide marketing campaigns for important Volkswagen vehicles and forging partnerships with leading digital platforms.
Bishwajeet’s journey with Volkswagen in India is not new. He previously served as the Head of Marketing for the brand between 2018 and 2020, where he focused on brand development and implementing strategic marketing initiatives. His extensive experience within the Volkswagen Group also includes managing regional media and marketing communications in Europe, playing a crucial part in the brand’s initial growth within the Indian market.
With over two decades of experience in brand management and marketing, encompassing roles at Tata Teleservices, FCB Interface, and Star India, Bishwajeet’s appointment to this elevated role underscores Volkswagen’s confidence in his ability to lead their marketing and PR efforts in India. His diverse experience and global insights are expected to be instrumental in strengthening the brand’s connection with Indian consumers and navigating the competitive automotive landscape.
