Nike celebrates Nikola Jokic with billboard in NYC
The iconic sports brand unveiled the billboard in Manhattan following the conclusion of the NBA Finals
The recently concluded 2023 NBA Finals saw the Denver Nuggets make history as the team reached its first finals in franchise history and took the title home as well. Coached by Michael Malone, the Nuggets defeated underdogs Miami Heat, led by Jimmy Butler, in 5 games.
The star of the series was Serbian Nikola Jokic, who took home the NBA title as well as the Finals MVP who averaged 30.2 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game in the postseason.
In celebration of Jokic’s historic season, Nike unveiled a billboard in Manhattan with the caption “No Joke” referring to the Serb’s nickname ‘The Joker’ – a combination of his surname and his composed attitude on the court.
Belgrade Tower, the tallest building in Serbia, also lit up to commemorate Jokic’s achievement.
