Clash Royale turns everyday notifications into its biggest rival
The campaign is created by DAVID New York
Supercell’ new out-of-home campaign ‘Choose Your Battles’ shifts focus from in-game rivalry to something far more relatable: constant interruptions. The insight is rooted in real player behaviour, Clash Royale users are deeply invested in gameplay, often choosing to stay locked in despite the barrage of notifications competing for their attention.
The campaign brings this tension to life through striking OOH visuals that capture high-intensity gameplay moments, troops mid-attack, towers on the brink, suddenly interrupted by familiar alerts. Work emails, personal messages, even wellness reminders cut through the action, creating a sharp contrast between urgency and distraction. The message is clear: not every interruption deserves a response.

Rather than treating these notifications as neutral, the campaign reframes them as the real enemy. In doing so, Clash Royale celebrates players who prioritise the game over everyday noise, turning focus into a badge of commitment.
Reportedly, André Toledo, Chief Creative Officer at DAVID New York, noted, “This campaign is about celebrating the players who prioritize their passion for Clash Royale over life’s endless interruptions. It’s a testament to their focus and their love for the game.”the idea is to spotlight players who choose passion over constant digital interruptions.
