Astrotalk turns its most common roast into an OOH campaign
With a tongue-in-cheek message calling out the frequency of its own advertisements, Astrotalk uses a billboard to turn consumer chatter into a brand communication.
“Bro, Astrotalk ke ad bohot aate hain.” Astrotalk has taken a familiar consumer complaint and turned it into the headline of its latest OOH execution.
The billboard carries the message, “Par ye wala mat dekho. Road pe dhyan do!” — asking people not to look at this particular advertisement and instead pay attention to the road. The self-aware copy turns a comment about the brand’s frequent advertising into an opportunity to engage audiences through humour.
Rather than ignoring or pushing back against the conversation around its advertising frequency, Astrotalk acknowledges it directly. The creative works by taking a remark audiences may already associate with the brand and giving it a new context in the physical environment.
The punchline also makes the billboard relevant to its surroundings. After drawing attention with the opening line, the message tells commuters to look away from the advertisement and focus on the road — a playful contradiction that gives the execution its character.
