BMC to restrict digital billboards to island city
Also, BMC plans to make it compulsory for all outdoor firms to put up a detailed board stating the permit number and all required details along with the hoarding
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to allow installation of digital billboards only within the island city and not on the highways and major roads in the suburban areas where such hoardings will distract motorists, as per a Hindustan Times report. The civic body will also issue live updates and warnings during natural disasters and emergencies through these digital billboards.
Also, BMC plans to make it compulsory for all outdoor firms to put up a detailed board stating the permit number and all required details along with the hoarding. The BMC officials will file FIRs against illegal hoardings.
