BMRCL likely to introduce in-train advertising in next few months
The metro authority is not favourably disposed to permitting train wrap advertising, but would consider introducing advertising panels inside the coaches
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) is planning to introduce in-train advertising once the network has 6-car train sets running to meet the cater to the growing commuter traffic. At present, Namma Metro has only one six-car train. The 49 three-car trains sets will have additional rakes by June 2019, as per a Times of India report.
A BMRCL official was quoted in the report as saying that they are not favourably disposed to permitting train wrap advertising, but would consider introducing advertising panels inside the coaches, such that the interiors of the coaches are not damaged in any way. Currently, BMRCL has given away media rights for station and outside station and metro pillar branding and has seen a rise in the authority’s non-fare revenues.
