PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Hyderabad Metro Rail
The first phase of the Metro rail project connects Miyapur and Nagole, having 24 stations. L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd is the concessionaire for the project. Overall the network is expected to see 17 lakh passenger movement every day
The much-anticipated Hyderabad Metro Rail is finally gaining traction. The network was inaugurated today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The Metro will begin commercial operations from November 29.
The first phase of the Metro rail project connects Miyapur and Nagole, having 24 stations. L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd is the concessionaire for the project. Each train would initially have three coaches and 330 people can travel in each coach. Overall the network is expected to see 17 lakh passenger movement every day.
There are plans to build skywalks connecting the statins directly to commercial complexes, stadiums and offices.
The Metro will eventually cover 72-km stretch in about a year’s time.
