Consolidation could spark investor interest on OOH business: Gaurav Deepak
Gaurav Deepak, Co-Founder & MD, Avendus, spoke about factors that induce VC/PE to fund new businesses while addressing the Outdoor Advertising Convention on the theme’Emerging trends in financing of media business — What OOH media firms must do to attract investments’.
Gaurav Deepak, Co-Founder & MD, Avendus, spoke about factors that induce VC/PE to fund new businesses while addressing the Outdoor Advertising Convention on the theme’Emerging trends in financing of media business — What OOH media firms must do to attract investments’.Gaurav listed the following as the key factors that attract investments:
• A Strong professional entrepreneurial environment; not necessarily a family-run type of business.
• The growth that the company has projected and promises to deliver
• Innovation and ideas
When asked why the OOH industry does not attract the attention of VC/PE funds, he said that by and large the OOH firms are family-owned and funded by internal accruals, so most are not looking to build up their business plans in a manner as to draw in investments. He also underlined the need for achieving scale in business.
Gaurav said that consolidation of OOH business could create fresh investor interest in the industry.
