SDMC places curbs on inside mall advertising
The civic body has notified concerned mall owners for share of media ad revenue accruals
South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has notified the management of malls such as DLF Promenade, Select City, Ambience Mall and others in the city to provide for sharing of revenues with the civic body on accruals from digital media installed inside these malls. The issue of the notice stems from the point that under the public view clause of Delhi Outdoor Advertising Policy 2017, the inside space of mall is free and the media consumption there is quite high.
The move has reportedly hit advertising on this format affecting the businesses of both media owners and agencies.
The mall owners have since conducted a meeting with SDMC, but the industry’s concern has not been addressed yet.
