North Delhi MC on beautification drive ahead of ASEAN Summit
North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) is undertaking a major cleaning of the northern part of the city that entails removal of out-sized hoardings and use of standard shop signages with uniform colours, styling and sizes
As per the mandate given by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj ahead of the ASEAN Summit that will be held in New Delhi, North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) is undertaking a major cleaning of the northern part of the city. That entails removal of out-sized hoardings. At the same time, shop signages with uniform colours, styling and sizes (maximum size of 2.5 sq. m with white background and text in pink or blue) will replace the existing ones.
In the heritage zone of the city, haphazard signboards have marred the look of the area. And, ahead of the summit, the civic body has started a beautification drive, starting with Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk areas. And, having a uniform board for all shops will enhance the look and feel of the area.
The ASEAN Summit is scheduled to take place between January 19th and 30th in the national capital. Many leaders are expected to go sightseeing in the Old Delhi area.
