Interim stay on amendments to TN outdoor ad policy
The Madras HC bench has granted interim stay after hearing a batch of petitions
The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court has extended the interim stay on the amendments to the Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws (fifth amendment) Act 2018, the outdoor advertisement policy of the state, which prohibits hoardings in private lands and private buildings, as reported in a Times of India edition.
The division bench was hearing a batch of petitions seeking to quash the act no. 40 of Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws (fifth amendment act, 2018) published in the TN Government gazette on July 16 as unconstitutional.
