OAA, WB converts used flex into sleeping bags for under-privileged
The members of the association contributed used/scrap flexes that were converted into washable sleeping bags with inbuilt pillow and a blanket stitched into it
The Outdoor Advertising Association (OAA) of West Bengal has taken the initiative to have used flexes recycled for making sleeping bags for the under-privileged people who are having to brave the winter season without much clothing protection.
The initiative was ideated by Joydeep Mukherjee, a member of the governing body of the association, and the association and the members adopted it. The members of the association contributed used/ scrap flexes that were converted into washable sleeping bags with inbuilt pillow and a blanket stitched into it. Close to 180 sleeping bags were distributed at an event held in Kolkata.
The event was attended by Debashis Kumar, Mayor-In-Council, MMIC-Advertisement, Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Arup Chaudhary, President of the association shared with Media4Growth that the association is planning to make this a continues exercise to support the under-privileged.
