DTIDC opens contest for best bus shelter designs
Out of 5 winners, one will be awarded work as the project management consultant, the next four best designers will get prize money of Rs 2 lakh each
The Delhi government & DTIDC has announced a competition to select innovative designs for the construction of nearly 1,400 new bus shelters across the city. A special jury committee has been formed which will finalise the best design winner. The Delhi government is looking for innovative, low-cost as well as low-maintenance designs with new materials or technology with LED display panels showing the routes and digital advertising as well as interactive maps powered by solar energy.
Under the current Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, the concessionaire builds bus stands and enjoys the rights to collect revenue through advertisements. In return, they pay a sum to DTC on every advertisement.
The authority is going to select best five designs. While the winner will be awarded work as the project management consultant, the next four best designers will get prize money of Rs 2 lakh each.
The last date to submit the designs is September 24.
