Dakatronics installs digital façade on Belgium real estate major’s building
The display provides full video capabilities when viewed from outside the building while also providing the ability to see through the display when looking out the windows from inside the building.
IRET Development of Antwerp, Belgium, selected Daktronics to design, manufacture and install a digital façade of freeform LED elements flush with the face of the Post-X building in Berchem, Belgium. According to a Dakatronics media communication, as featured in a FEPE International newsletter, the display provides full video capabilities when viewed from outside the building while also providing the ability to see through the display when looking out the windows from inside the building.
The display measures 6.15 meters high by 9.4 meters wide and features 50-millimeter pixel spacing on each freeform stick element which are vertically spaced 50 millimeters apart. The communique states that the LED elements mount to the surface of the building yet preserve the architectural integrity while providing a dynamic lighting and messaging space used to show logos of companies which inhabit the building.
Daktronics has installed more than 170 freeform LED video displays dating back to 2005. The technology features industry-leading environmental protection for a long lifetime with consistent performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
