billups celebrates its anniversary by putting its people on billboard
The campaign is participating in fifteen locations across Asia, Europe and North America, including Belgrade, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Chicago. Portland, Dubai, Los Angeles, London, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, Selangor, Montreal, New York, Singapore and Toronto.
billups, the world’s largest independent Out-of-Home (OOH) technology and managed services company, is turning its own medium into a public thank-you to the people behind its work. The campaign marks the first billups Day, a company-wide celebration of gratitude.
The animation begins with an individual employee portrait, then expands to reveal more colleagues before a wider collection of employee photographs forms a mosaic of the billups “b”. An individual becomes a team, and together those people become the brand. The same creative will appear across participating locations.

The campaign utilises both static visual elements and programmatic digital scheduling to deploy the creative simultaneously across diverse global ad-tech networks.

“billups Day is a moment to thank the people who have shaped our story — and for each of us to think about who helped write our own,” said Heather Billups, co-founder of billups. “We wanted our colleagues to see themselves in the company they help build every day.”

The wider celebration asks, “Who helped write your story?” Employees have been invited to recognise someone who has made a difference in their lives or careers, whether a colleague, mentor, friend or family member.
Colleagues near participating screens are also invited to gather, see the campaign and take photographs or selfies alongside their portraits. Appearing in the campaign and attending the gatherings are both voluntary.
