The state government will be assimilating the proposal submitted the nodal agency marking locations for 500 shelters; the final nod will be given after legal and financial department approvals
The SPV, Pratheeksha Bus Shelters Kerala Ltd (PBSKL), a nodal agency for constructing, developing, maintaining and operating bus shelters, has submitted their bus shelter proposal to the state government to seek the approval on the plan. The proposal includes locations identified by the agency along with its classification segregated into three parts. Total 500 bus shelters have been chalked out in the plan located all over the Kerala and at a few locations in Thiruvananthapuram. The bus shelter to be constructed under PPP model will be allotted for the duration of 15 years. The shelters, being conceived by the Public Works Department, will have drinking water, telephone, fax, Internet, and postal facilities, and round-the-clock power supply.
