IKEA India Appoints Jessamine Avila as Chief Marketing Officer
Jessamine brings more than two decades of experience in marketing and brand building, including 12 years with IKEA across several global and market leadership roles.
IKEA India has appointed Jessamine Avila as its Chief Marketing Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the home furnishings retailer continues to expand its omnichannel presence in one of its fastest-growing markets.
In her new role, Jessamine will be part of IKEA India’s Growth and Marketing function, where she will lead the company’s marketing strategy, strengthen brand relevance and drive customer engagement across both physical and digital touchpoints.
Jessamine brings more than two decades of experience in marketing and brand building, including 12 years with IKEA across several global and market leadership roles. During her tenure, she has held key positions in Australia before joining IKEA’s global marketing team in Malmö, Sweden, where she contributed to brand and marketing transformation initiatives focused on enhancing customer relevance and supporting long-term business growth.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal stage for IKEA India as the retailer continues to scale its footprint and deepen its omnichannel capabilities. Leveraging her global experience and deep understanding of the IKEA brand, Jessamine is expected to further evolve the company’s brand expression while delivering more consistent and engaging customer experiences across channels.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Jessamine reflected on her move to India, calling it both an exciting and meaningful transition.
“After a wonderful chapter in Sweden, I’m excited to share that my family and I have now relocated to India, where I’ve taken on a new assignment leading Marketing for the market. This transition feels both exciting and deeply meaningful. India is a market full of energy, ambition, and opportunity, and I’m grateful to be part of its next phase of growth,” Jessamine wrote.
Highlighting her vision for the role, Jessamine added, “What inspires me most about this role is the opportunity to bring together global learnings with local insights to create stronger customer connections, drive sustainable growth, and make a positive impact for the many people we serve. Just as importantly, it’s about people. Building empowered teams, fostering an inclusive culture, and leading with our values are responsibilities I care deeply about.”
Jessamine also expressed gratitude for her time in Sweden and enthusiasm for the journey ahead, saying she looks forward to learning, growing and contributing alongside many talented colleagues.
