Netflix has once again demonstrated the power of experiential out-of-home advertising with an unconventional billboard activation for its upcoming film The Last House. Instead of relying on traditional creative, the streaming platform transformed a billboard into a fully furnished living room complete with a performer living inside, creating a real-world extension of the film’s unsettling premise.

Installed nearly 30 feet above Sunset Boulevard,Los Angeles the activation ran from August 6 to 8 ahead of the film’s premiere. Passersby were greeted by what appeared to be an ordinary home built into the billboard, with a man seen eating, relaxing and holding a sign reading “Stuck in Here,” inviting onlookers to question how long they could survive in the same situation.

By recreating a key narrative element from the film in a highly visible public setting, Netflix blurred the boundaries between entertainment and advertising, transforming a static billboard into a live theatrical experience. The installation generated curiosity, encouraged social sharing and delivered an unforgettable brand moment for commuters and pedestrians alike.

The campaign highlights how experiential OOH continues to evolve beyond conventional messaging, using immersive storytelling and real-world interaction to create deeper audience engagement while amplifying buzz ahead of a film release.
