KFC builds buzz in Vizag with a towering sand bucket activation at RK Beach
The brand turned to the shoreline to mark its arrival in Vizag, quite literally shaping its brand into the landscape.
To announce the launch of its new outlet on Beach Road, the brand created a life-size sand installation of its iconic bucket at Ramakrishna Beach. Built using over seven tonnes of sand, the structure was crafted by local artist Akunuru Balaji Varaprasad over 48 hours, transforming a familiar seaside stretch into a high-impact brand moment.
The installation didn’t just sit as a visual, it became an experience. Positioned along a high-footfall promenade, the towering bucket naturally drew crowds, quickly turning into a photo hotspot for visitors and locals alike. In a space typically associated with leisure and movement, the activation managed to pause people, if only for a moment, to engage with the brand.
The timing aligns with KFC’s new restaurant opening just across the road. Spanning 2,280 sq. ft., the outlet reflects its coastal context through boat-inspired interiors, bamboo façade elements, and sea-facing seating, extending the beach narrative beyond the activation itself.
