OLX crafts a living room in a Delhi bqs
Vivaki Specialist Services has executed the innovation in the Lajpat Nagar area of New Delhi
Online classified portal OLX created a stir of sorts in the Lajpat Nagar area of New Delhi with a bus queue shelter (bqs) innovation that had people virtually queuing up to take photographs of themselves inside the done-up bqs. In conveying the message that the portal deals with a gamut of household products, OLX partnered with Vivaki Specialist Services to do up the bqs like a living room by placing real household utilities such as a couch, cushions, wall watch, guitar and cut-outs of a chandelier, air-conditioner and refrigerator.
The innovation, up for a period of one month, communicated to the audience – comprising bus commuters and moving traffic – that they can derive good value by transacting the goods on the portal.
The agency selected the particular bqs for its close proximity with the bustling Lajpat Nagar market where various household goods are sold, among others. The bqs is also highly visible from the flyover that straddles the area.
In executing the innovation, the agency had to contend with challenges like maintenance of the bqs, getting permission from the authority in the wake of Lok Sabha elections, and pilferage of the articles displayed at the site. A 24×7 guard in plainclothes was stationed at the bqs to keep the articles safe.
