Delhi Govt takes the outdoor route to assist retailers on GST matters
GST officers will visit markets to build general awareness of the new taxation norms
Delhi Government is launching an onground activity to help retailers understand the implications of GST on their respective businesses. GST officers will visit the markets in designated vans to conduct the awareness programmes. Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi is steering the initiative after small traders made representations to the government pointing to the problems that they are facing in the face of GST implementation.
“The mobile vans will tour the city’s markets and the officials will set up helpdesks across the city,” said an official. The vans are equipped with loudspeakers for making announcements. The officials will set camps at central points to assist the traders,” said an official. “The government will also tie up with market associations to inform them of the date and time of the interaction with the GST officials,” he added.
