Argos kicks off football season with witty OOH campaign celebrating match-day essentials
The campaign is executed in UK
As football fever grips the UK, Argos has launched a nationwide out-of-home campaign that taps into the rituals, emotions and last-minute shopping habits surrounding the beautiful game. Through a series of witty outdoor creatives and a fleet of branded delivery vans, the retailer positions itself as the go-to destination for everything fans might need before kick-off.
Created around the idea that football preparation goes far beyond the stadium, the campaign uses humour to spotlight everyday products in unexpected match-day scenarios. One execution features a blood pressure monitor under the headline “PENS.”, referencing the nerve-wracking tension of penalty shootouts. Another showcases a paddling pool with the line “HYDRATION BREAK”, playfully connecting the sport’s cooling breaks with products that help people beat the summer heat.
The minimalist creatives rely on bold typography and visual simplicity, allowing the football references to land instantly while subtly showcasing Argos’ extensive product catalogue. Each execution concludes with the call-to-action “Get football ready”, reinforcing the retailer’s positioning as a one-stop destination for match-day essentials.
Complementing the static OOH campaign, Argos has also transformed more than 170 delivery vans into moving billboards carrying the iconic phrase “It’s Coming Home. Same day delivery, 7 days a week.” The activation turns the retailer’s logistics network into a nationwide advertising medium, extending campaign visibility across cities, towns and residential neighbourhoods while highlighting its same-day delivery promise.
