Speaking on the theme”The need for sustainable and responsible printing processes for OOH at OAC 2015, Santhosh PG, Business Development Manager, Commercial Solutions Division, 3M India Ltd, provided interesting facts about why the OOH industry should look to adopt eco-friendly practices with respect to printing.
Speaking on the theme “The need for sustainable and responsible printing processes for OOH at OAC 2015, Santhosh PG, Business Development Manager, Commercial Solutions Division, 3M India Ltd, provided interesting facts about why the OOH industry should look to adopt eco-friendly practices with respect to printing.
He revealed statistics of the quantity of flex and Solvent Inks used in printing that could be damaging to the environment including waterbodies even though some of them are reused as covering for hutments and others are converted to shopping bags by innovative retailers. But this recycling is limited to only 40%, the danger of the 60% still exists.
Hence, he advocated the use of alternative media that is environment friendly, can withstand storms and continue to look elegant without disturbing the advertising.
