Air passenger traffic growth at Indian airport rangebound
However, the traffic volumes have grown month-to-month compared to corresponding months of 2023

Even as India’s newest airline Shankh Air has been granted approval by the Civil Aviation Ministry for commercial operations, the country is reinforcing its position as the world’s third largest domestic civil aviation market. OAG data shows that India’s domestic airline capacity has doubled in a decade from 7.9 million in April 2014 to 15.5 million in April 2024.
Since April 2024, until July 2024, international air passenger traffic originating at airports in India moved in the region of 5.8 million (58.7 lakh) to 6.4 million (64.4 lakh) a month, whereas the domestic passenger traffic was in the range of 26.1 million (2.61 crore) to 27.9 million (2.79 crore).
