The city of Mysuru will once again have its own OOH landscape with the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) deciding to allow outdoor advertising in the city. The civic is bringing into effect a new set of advertising bylaws and will also take forward the ad tax structure that was proposed by the state government’s Standing Committee on Taxation, Finance and Appeals.

It may be recalled that outdoor advertising in the city was stopped some two years ago in the effort to drive the city beautification.

While media owners are yet to formally receive any communication in this regard, it is learnt that some of the media owners are planning to meet with the concerned authorities to gain a proper understanding of the plans in place.

Currently, in the absence of the large formats, formats like cantilever displays, bridge panels were the main media available to brands.
