Gurugram MC steps up move against illegal media
Directs agencies and advertisers to use only authorised media
Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has issued notices to all advertising firms including agencies and brands, urging them to ensure that the vendors that they engage with are offering authorised media alone. The move comes in the wake of the urban local body (ULB) facing the issue of unauthorised media operations in the city.
The ULB has also stepped up the drive to identify sites that are illegal, while imposing hefty fines on those that are not tax compliant. It is estimated that some 30% of the media units in the city are not duly authorised.
