Govt plan to set up 100 new airports will further augment airport media opportunities
Most of the new airports will be established in cities that currently do not have airports. As India’s civil aviation industry grows, powered by sustained passenger traffic growth, airports will become even more compelling brand advertising destinations
In a view to expand India’s connectivity and meet potential demand, Jayant Sinha the minister of state of aviation announces the plan to establish 100 airports, doubling the current number in 15 years. The minister also disclosed the estimated budget for this expansion which is close to Rs 4 lakh crore. 70 locations will have their first airport like Kharagpur. New airport advertising opportunities will be unfurled in the wake of such developments.
As per reports, 30 other airports will come up in cities like Jaipur, Guwahati, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Goa, among others. Most of the 100 will be built in cities and towns that hold potential such as Kharagpur but have no airport.
