Crompton unveils new master brand identity as it enters next phase of growth
Crompton 2.0 brings together a refreshed master brand, new platforms and a premiumisation push as the company expands its presence across the home solutions space.
Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. has unveiled its new Master Brand identity, marking the next chapter of Crompton 2.0 and its transformation into an innovation-led, consumer-centric home solutions business.
At the centre of the refreshed identity is Cephyr, the company’s new emblem and primary visual expression, alongside the new brand promise ‘Amazing, Every Day.’ Crompton has also introduced a distinctive sonic identity that will extend across advertising, digital platforms, product experiences and retail environments.
Over the past decade, Crompton has expanded beyond its traditional categories through investments in technology and product innovation. The new identity is intended to create a unified brand platform as the company focuses on innovation, premiumisation and long-term growth.
Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director & CEO, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., said: “The home solutions industry is entering a defining phase of transformation where everyday living is simplified through thoughtful innovation, seamless experiences and solutions they can trust. We believe the strongest brands of tomorrow won’t be defined by a single category, but by the role they play across consumers’ everyday lives. That belief has shaped Crompton 2.0—our strategic transformation into a diversified, innovation-led home solutions business. Over the past decade, we have expanded beyond our legacy categories, strengthened our innovation capabilities and built a portfolio that responds to the evolving needs of Indian consumers, while remaining anchored in the trust that has defined Crompton for over 85 years. Our new brand identity is far more than a visual change. From introducing Cephyr the new emblem, the new tagline, along with a distinctive sonic identity, we are creating a future-ready identity for Crompton. More than a new identity, it reinforces our ambition and belief to build deeper consumer preference, accelerate our premiumisation journey and create long-term value for our consumers, partners and shareholders.”
Tanmay Prusty, Chief Marketing Officer, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., said: “Crompton has evolved significantly over the years, and our new brand identity reflects that transformation. It is a unified brand system encompassing our visual and sonic identity, designed to create a more distinctive consumer experience. At the same time, we are building a stronger platform of brands to address evolving consumer needs across different segments.”
Expanding into new growth platforms
The brand refresh comes alongside the introduction of Energion, Crompton’s intelligent energy platform covering generation, conversion, storage and charging solutions. The platform is designed to allow the company to participate across emerging energy adjacencies rather than remain restricted to individual product categories.
Crompton has also introduced Crompton Rhion, its new super-premium brand, as part of its premiumisation strategy. Positioned around purposeful innovation, technical mastery and elegant design, Rhion is built on the philosophy ‘Prowess Inside. Poise Outside.’
The brand makes its debut in the premium water purification category with the Crompton Rhion Water Biofier, which the company describes as a category-first innovation focused on delivering water that is not only pure but optimally balanced for consumption.
Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director & CEO, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. said, “The launch of Crompton Rhion marks an important milestone in our premiumization journey and reflects our ambition to strengthen our presence in the super-premium segment. As our dedicated super-premium brand, Crompton Rhion will enable us to deliver elevated experiences through thoughtful design, advanced technology and solutions that cater to the evolving aspirations of consumers. Crompton Rhion combines technical mastery with intuitive innovation to deliver a new benchmark in premium living.”
OOH remains part of the communication mix
While the brand transformation spans Crompton’s entire consumer ecosystem, OOH continues to play an integral role in the company’s communication mix, particularly when the brand wants to bring product innovation to life in physical spaces.
Tanmay Prusty, Chief Marketing Officer, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., said that the company’s approach to OOH is centred on creating meaningful communication rather than simply pursuing scale. He added that the medium gives Crompton the flexibility to bring products and their features to life in ways that can create a stronger consumer experience.
“OOH is an integral part of our marketing mix. We don’t look at media purely through the lens of a funnel; every medium has a distinct role to play, and OOH plays that role very well. As a large-scale player, we need to use every relevant medium to continue reaching consumers, and OOH gives us the ability to do that while also enabling increasingly precise, hyper-local campaigns,” Tanmay said.
He also pointed to the medium’s ability to demonstrate product innovation in a physical environment. In one of Crompton’s recent campaigns, the brand deployed its Fluido fan at scale in Chennai, using OOH to demonstrate its technology, automated remote sensing and functionality.
“One of our recent campaigns had the Fluido fan deployed at scale in Chennai, possibly one of the largest renditions of a ceiling fan. We were able to demonstrate the technology and automated remote sensing of the product, and OOH helped bring those features to life in a very interesting way,” Tanmay added.
Beyond campaign visibility, Crompton also evaluates OOH as part of its wider integrated marketing activity, with campaign performance assessed holistically alongside other media and through multiple checkpoints across its retail and channel ecosystem.
With Cephyr, ‘Amazing, Every Day’, Crompton Rhion and its broader portfolio architecture, Crompton is positioning its next phase around innovation, premiumisation and connected consumer experiences, while continuing to use OOH as one of the mediums through which these product and brand stories can come alive.
