Nykaa turns Mumbai’s Carter Road into a sun-care playground
Timed with Mumbai’s longer, harsher summer days, the activation leans into a simple but often ignored behaviour: sunscreen is still treated as occasional, not essential.
Nykaa takes sunscreen out of the aisle and places it right into the rhythm of the city.

With the launch of the Sun Shield Shack at Carter Road, Bandra, the brand transforms a familiar seaside promenade into an immersive, beach shack-inspired experience, one that makes sun care feel less like a routine and more like a summer ritual.
The space blends seamlessly into daily life. From morning walkers to evening strollers, the shack becomes a natural pause point along the promenade, gently reinforcing that SPF isn’t just for vacations, but an everyday necessity.

At the heart of the experience is SPF School, an on-ground guide designed to simplify sunscreen discovery. Instead of browsing shelves, visitors can swipe, test, and compare different formats, textures, and finishes in real time. The setup brings together a mix of homegrown and global brands, turning what is usually a confusing category into an interactive, hands-on experience.
Visually, the installation leans into a coastal aesthetic, striped umbrellas, breezy cabanas, and sun-soaked detailing, creating a setting that feels more like a mini getaway than a retail touchpoint. Interactive stations and co-branded installations encourage exploration, while photo-friendly corners naturally drive social sharing.
