PCMC plans strong action to remove unauthorised media
Structural stability audits called for
The Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporation (PCMC) has directed that unauthorised outdoor media sites in operation in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area are to be removed within three days. The civic body’s move was initiated after a hoarding collapse that took lives. The Indian Express, while reporting on this development, has stated in an article that “that structural stability audits be done within 15 days for 433 hoardings whose case is pending in the Bombay High Court”.
The PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh told the daily that the certificates of structural stability should be provided by the empanelled structural engineers. The civic body will take strong action to remove all unauthorised outdoor media structures, he said.
