BBMP floats new tender for construction of street furniture
After a gap of many years, BRUHAT bengaluru MAHANAGARA PALIKE (BBMP) has called tender for construction of street furnitures in the city under 4 different packages on DBOOT basis. Major outdoor players such as Prakash Arts, Times OOH, Sign Post are participating in this tender.

In order to bring policy matters into reality, BBMP for the first time has introduced a reservation for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe in the tender. Accordingly, package A is for reserved criteria.
While discussing on the tender, Srinath, Regional Head, Prakash Arts Karnataka confirmed the company’s participation and explained the different criteria to qualify in the technical bid. Evaluations are on the basis of design and development, technical experience in terms of operation and maintenance, etc. The technical evaluations will have more importance than the financial quote. The minimum price bid is Rs. 40,000 per shelter per annum. Bidder has to complete the project within 2 years.
Shripad Ashtekar of Signpost commented, “We welcome the initiative of BBMP & its serious effort to reform the street furniture scenario. The entire project is coming at zero cost along with free operation and maintenance for the tenure to the city authority since the growing urbanisation has also caused serious shortages of basic infrastructure, forcing commuters to commute in old shanty structures without essential facilities. We as a enterprise have evolved from a single traditional media from Nagpur and today Signpost has Pan India presence with the help of a committed team of professionals, including administrators, management experts, engineers, architects & media persons to create a sustainable offering to various cities.
