Dubai Mall expands its DOOH network with 1,100 sqm of LED displays
Emaar Properties has reportedly deployed approximately 1,100 sq m of LED displays across indoor and outdoor areas of Dubai Mall, creating an integrated digital advertising network within one of the world’s largest shopping destinations.
According to a report by invidis, Emaar Properties has expanded the digital out-of-home (DOOH) infrastructure at Dubai Mall, deploying approximately 1,100 sq m of LED displays across around 50 display placements within the mall’s indoor and outdoor environments.
The project was completed in July in collaboration with Dubai-based systems integrator Blue Rhine Industries, with InfiLED’s MVMK2 Series used across the network.
Rather than treating indoor and outdoor screens as separate systems, the reported deployment brings them together under a common digital display infrastructure. The screens have been installed across different areas of Dubai Mall, including locations exposed to significant daylight.
According to the report, some of the displays use outdoor-rated technology even in indoor areas such as spaces close to skylights and glass façades. This is intended to address the visibility challenges created by strong natural light, where conventional indoor LED displays may struggle.
The displays reportedly offer 4,500 nits of brightness and a 3,840 Hz refresh rate, with a 3.9 mm pixel pitch. Among the larger screens are installations measuring 20×5 metres, 20×4 metres and two 4×6 metre displays.
The network is also connected through a centralised content platform, allowing the different displays across Dubai Mall to be managed as part of a unified system. According to the report, the infrastructure has been designed around the mall’s operations and is intended for continuous operation.
The MVMK2 cabinets used in the deployment are rated IP65 on both the front and rear, while supporting front and rear servicing. InfiLED has also stated that the series uses 16% less energy than its previous MV generation.
The project follows earlier large-scale LED deployments at Dubai Mall and elsewhere in Dubai involving Blue Rhine and InfiLED, further reflecting the growing use of large-format digital infrastructure across the city’s retail and destination environments.
With the latest deployment, Dubai Mall now has a digital display network that extends across its indoor and outdoor environments within the same destination, giving advertisers a unified DOOH infrastructure across different physical and lighting conditions.
