Vodafone calls attention to road safety

Along with 500 children and 800+ Vodafone employees, the brand is promoting road safety in New Delhi as part of a major activation drive.

Vodafone has kicked off a'Safe Mobility' campaign for which the brand has tied-up with the Delhi Police to drive a social message i.e. "TO NOT USE PHONES, WHILE DRIVING” in the city. The aim was to reduce fatalities and create awareness about road safety amongst citizens. The activity saw everyone holding placards having different messages and driving pledges on it.
 
Around 500 children from various NGOs and 800+ Vodafone employees participated in the safety march flagged off from Rajpath and culminated at Shastri Bhawan to promote the campaign. The event also had a street play conducted by children from various NGO's educating people about road safety and the perils of using mobile phones while driving.
 
The safety march was jointly flagged off by Subrat Padhi, Business Head - Delhi, Vodafone India and Anil Shukla, Addl. C.P, Delhi Traffic Police.

According to the brand, the initiative is in line with its long-term commitment to achieving highest standards of health, safety and well-being (HSW) in and around the community that it operates in. The campaign highlights the Absolute Safety Rules (ASR) and focuses on urging commuters to always wear a seat belt while driving, never exceed speed limits, always wear a helmet while riding a two wheeler, stop using mobile phone while driving and avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
 
Speaking about the initiative, Subrat Padhi, Business Head - Delhi, Vodafone India, said, "Vodafone India, as a value based organization, is passionate about people and is constantly working towards providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for its employees, customers and the society. Under the umbrella theme of Health, Safety and Well-being, we have intensified our focus on safety and have moved from Zero Fatality to Zero Harm. Vodafone takes this opportunity to urge Delhiites and those travelling to the city, to follow road safety rules and stay safe.”
