V L Rajesh to speak on OOH marketing at OAC 2017

It is imperative for the OOH industry is increasingly view the OOH media as not just a site but a communication medium. It is equally important that the OOH firms strengthen their marketing capabilities to attract a greater number of advertising brands. Marketing is a science, and an art too. V L Rajesh, one of the best known corporate leaders with extensive experience in sales and marketing, manufacturing and PD and business leadership, will make a presentation on the theme ‘10 best ways to market OOH’ at the upcoming Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) which will be held at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai, Mumbai during July 28-29, 2017.

Rajesh, who holds an MBA from IIM Calcutta with specialisation in marketing and finance, joined ITC in 1990 and handled various assignments there over 27 years. His last assignment was as CEO of the Foods Business, ITC’s second largest business. When Rajesh took over in 2015, he was the youngest CEO in the company at the time. He was a founding member of the business which over 14 years has grown to nearly Rs 9,000 crore in size. During this phase he launched and built brands like Aashirvaad atta, salt, spices and ghee, Sunfeast, DarkFantasy and Farmlite biscuits, Candyman and Mint-o confectionery, Bingo, Mad Angles and Tedhe Medhe snacks, Yippee noodles and pasta, Kitchens of India Ready to Eat dishes, B Natural Juices, etc. Some of these brands have consumer spends exceeding Rs 3,000 crore each.

In 2014 Rajesh was awarded the International Advertising Association’s prestigious Marketer of the Year award, one of the leading awards in corporate India. He was also on various industry body boards like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, etc., to take up matters pertaining to the Food Industry with the Central and state governments. In addition, he has been part of various state Investment Summits. He has also been part of several juries of some prestigious awards along with Senior CEOs from Indian industry.

Rajesh is on a one-year sabbatical from work since December 2016.
