Unlocking Delhi unhinges OOH from growth curbs

By M4G Bureau - June 14, 2021

Increasing road traffic in the national capital will provide the impetus for OOH recovery.

Delhi, which was in the throes of a major health crisis a month ago when the Covid19 pandemic engulfed the national capital, is now fast getting back to normality. With 255 new Covid19 cases as on date, and 3,366 active cases currently, Government of Delhi is well on course to open up the city for business.

From today, private offices will run on 50% capacity from 9AM to 5PM, all market complexes, malls will be completely open from 10AM to 8PM, 100% attendance of group ‘A’ officers and 50% for the rest in government offices, uninterrupted delivery of essential activities, restaurants are allowed to open with 50% seating capacity, etc.

On June 11, Indian Express reported that “as metro services, markets, and construction work resume in the city after the lockdown, Delhi witnesses traffic jams…” The increasing road traffic volume will provide the impetus for OOH advertising to pick up across Delhi NCR where occupancy is seen to be increasing at a healthy pace.
