RailTel Executive Director K Manohar Raja to address 2nd Transit Media Talks conference

K Manohar Raja will speak on the theme of "How railway network modernisation will redefine India’s transit infra"

Even as the pioneering Railway Display Network (RDN) project in the Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway is nearing completion, plans are afoot to launch RDN projects on a wider scale. RailTel Corporation of India will play an instrumental role in modernizing the Railway passenger information systems by leveraging its own infrastructure and technology expertise. In this light, K Manohar Raja, Executive Director – Enterprise Business, RailTel Corporation of India will be addressing the the 2nd Transit Media Talks conferenceon the theme of ‘How railway network modernisation will redefine India’s transit infra’. The Transit Media Talks conference will to be held on February 6, 2020at Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Mumbai.

K Manohar Raja joined the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers(IRSSE)in 1992 and has been passionate of leveraging technology to solve problems. He is currently the Executive Director in RailTel, responsible for Marketing and Strategic Business. He has led several innovative initiatives in RailTel like the Station Wi-Fi project which has become one of the best digital inclusion platforms in the world; a collaborative platform of broadband delivery called RailWire connecting to 125,000 homes; the Railway 139 service which he conceptualised and designed got mentioned in the top 10 ideas which changed Railways, etc.
 
Manohar Raja is also responsible for conceptualising the Content on Demand project which seeks to entertain passengers on trains and the RDN where the plan is to build an addressable network of displays across all the Railways stations served centrally to provide contextually rich information and engaging content. RDN is designed to become a principal platform for Railway information dissemination as well as unlocking the value of footfall in the railway stations.
