NDMC invites bids for 150 public utilities on BOT basis

By Satarupa Chakraborty - February 28, 2017

NDMC invites bids to construct and maintain 150 public utilities which will have 30% area of total wall spaces dedicated to outdoor advertising.

In a recently-issued tender North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has invited bids to build and operate 150 public utilities in and around commercial complexes near main roads and parks in the NDMC zone. The ad rights on three walls of each of the utilities shall cover 30% of the total area of walls.

The sites being offered will be around 40 sq. m. in size. The project will be completed on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. The initial period of license, operation and maintenance will be 7 years, which can further be renewed at the discretion of NDMC for a further 7 years. “Public utilities in Delhi have changed the way the brands looked at outdoor advertizing. In recent times, we saw the biggest of brands flocking on public utility walls in the SDMC area. If constructed and maintained properly, they will not only contribute to public convenience but can be monetised heavily,” said an NDMC official.
