Ministry of Home Affairs permits cinema halls to restart operations

Although the central government has allowed, the Maharashtra government has prohibited cinema halls under the extended lockdown until October 31

On September 30, the ministry of home affairs announced the next set of guidelines under Unlock 5.0. Following which, cinemas, theatres and multiplexes are allowed to reopen with 50% capacity from October 15 as per the guidelines, yet to be, issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

As per guidelines, entertainment parks will be permitted to open. Further, B2B exhibitions are also allowed to reopen. But, all these activities would be allowed only outside of containment zones. 

However, the government of Maharashtra has extended the lockdown until October 31 and will be applicable across the state. Cinema halls and some recreational activities are strictly prohibited under this phase of unlock. However, bars, eateries and restaurants can reopen with 50% capacity.
