Karnataka High Court gives nod for Covid19 awareness campaign with strict guidelines

The high court has permitted Bengaluru civic body to put up hoardings but with the condition to follow strict norms

The High Court of Karnataka has given permission to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to roll out an OOH campaign to enlighten the general public about the precautionary measures to be adopted in preventing the spread of Covid19 in Bangalore.

However, it has issued a mandate to follow strict norms such as no flex/plastic or any other harmful material to be used for the promotion and also no product promotion is allowed in this campaign. In addition to this, scientific disposing of the material will be must once they are taken down.

BBMP Commissioner BH Anil Kumar has filed the plea to employ the medium in order to spread awareness messages.

It is learnt that the campaign will be executed using around 2000 hoardings and banners located at prominent areas of the city.
